Thanks to our advertising and media sponsors, Nurses Week 2009 was a huge success! Through events with the Twisters Arena Football team, the NWA Naturals and the Arkansas Travelers Baseball teams, we celebrated nurses all week long, offering free or discounted tickets, concourse promotion, and fun on-field games at each event.

Compassion Award winner Jasper Fultz sang the national anthem beautifully, and Jean Zehler, President of the Arkansas Nurses Association threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Travs Game.

ThinkAboutItNursing supported Komen Arkansas by supplying the pink jerseys that were auctioned off during the Travs game and raised $4,600 for breast cancer research. We also introduced Nurses for the Girls—a campaign to create the largest team of nurses to participate in the Little Rock Race for the Cure while raising money to support Komen and the ThinkAboutItNursing Scholarship Fund. What a great opportunity to celebrate nursing while investing in its future!
